December Weddings and Algiers Bonfire
A few years ago I was contracted to document the Algiers Bonfire, a Louisiana seasonal tradition, bonfires along the levee so Santa can see his way. This particular year the NOFD built a replica of the Algiers/Canal Street Ferry. Then burned it to the ground! Here are some photographs from the event. Which, by the way, includes free music by great local bands and food trucks. So if you are here in New Orleans getting married what better thing to do than partake of one of our traditions?!
Here's a link to the Algiers Bonfire website for further information.
