Another funny story. Seems I have a lot of those lately.
I'm OCD so while I sloth out and trash the place I then have to clean it up again. Yeah - I know. But I'm harmless.
Anyway.
I was organizing files for the next upcoming weddings as I was coming off a 20 day much needed break. I noticed I have Jackie and Jason scheduled on two dates. Well as a professional we are supposed to not freak the clients out by asking "hey, when are you getting married again?" I usually put together a file with all my scraps of notes as well as any email or IM contacts are saved on the computer. Well it took some digging to find what the heck was going on.
Seems I had two back to back Jackie and Jason's.
Whew. For a second there I was thinking the old man might have legal reason to finally put me in a rubber room. Jackie had a good laugh over it.
So they hit town early. We connected at my go-to craft cocktail dive bar on Rampart Street in the French Quarter, Bar Tonique. I instantly loved them both.
He sat there smiling as Jackie, wound up like a clock, just brightened the room with her laughter. Again we totally connected. Lots in common. Seems to be rather common thread these days.
We agreed to meet at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel about 15 minutes before their scheduled ceremony with Reverend Tony. I usually arrive 15-20 minutes early to get my gear organized and decide how I am going to light it. They were already there, over a half hour early. So we started early.
Tony does his own special ceremony with some added surprises at the end. Once the papers were signed Jackie set up this shot where she tries to pull Jason into the chapel. I was totally surprised myself but was able to get the shot.
We headed to the closest dive bar. See the trend here?
A little place we watch the Saints games called Fahy's. Once inside the locals bought a round of shots. And off we went. We played in the streets. Took some crazy portraits, many I can't show here. Oolala! It was a good time for all. And again a new friend. Congrats you two!!!
