Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette Hotel
They were high school sweethearts. It does take a certain kind of woman to marry a military officer. Chrystal is that woman. Something I noticed about Brendon. He has this calm and genuine caring disposition. The Marines that he is attached with at Camp Pendleton are a lucky bunch.
I really loved the Pere Marquette Hotel for photographs. Its very dramatic and modern, yet elegant. We did the before-the-ceremony group shots here. They chose not to see each other before the ceremony so we headed walking to Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church. What a beautiful church. After a very select few group shots we headed down the street to Le Pavillon for their reception. We always try to do some quick portraits between the ceremony and reception but many times it just doesn't happen due to unforeseen hugging and congratulating. ;) Because I always like to do something special for military couples, Brittany, my photographer's assistant, and I took an hour break waiting for the reception to end so we could take Chrystal and Brendon on what I like to call the "French Quarter Strut." This gives them some alone time that they haven't had yet.
And the shots were really cool. My favorite is one Brittany eyed. Since Brendon is a doctor, we thought the apothecary jar labled "leeches" was quite fitting. Enjoy a little taste of a beautiful and emotional New Orleans military wedding.
