Remember a few months ago I wrote this blog post about how important it is to be best friends, you know be on the same page? This is one of those times.
I'm not proud.
Full disclosure.
We shop at Whole Foods aka Whole Paycheck. (We call Home Depot - Hell's Depot. You DIY folks understand why.)
We run up there for their proteins, fresh produce and sushi. I hate to cook.
Let me repeat.
I hate to cook.
Sometime I will have to tell the spagetti story. So anyway, we shop there. My husband is a chef. He doesn't want to cook when he comes home. Refer back to the future spagetti story. Cripes.
Back to the point of the blog post here.
Gluten-free is the new thang. At least here in New Orleans it has become rather prevalent. I could tell you the funniest stories all the chefs have told me. Anyway, our lives are rather boring. He works all the time. I keep pretty busy too so our social life is well bor...ing. So we have fun at Whole Paycheck.
We walk the aisles and mock the 'gluten-free' labeling. Political correctness moment...we aren't mocking those who are into it; we are mocking the products that have NEVER had gluten but slap that label on. So for sad entertainment we stalk the shoppers and mumble and mock the labeling.
Keeps the aisles clear so we can get out fast!
Cause you know the longer you are in there the more you spend. We giggle when we exit the store. I am awaiting being counter-stalked soon.
Bottom line? Share your nasty selves. Those little secrets and moments are what makes memories. Go hassle shoppers at Hell's Depot. Stand in the lumber aisle and with a serious face ask an employee if the oak is gluten-free...
Get some cherries...they're gluten-free!
