An Awesome Canadian Couple Ties the Knot in New Orleans
Robin and I have been Facebook friends for what seems forever! She and Keith planned to elope to New Orleans and while she loves the French Quarter, they also were enamored by our New Orleans City Park and all her glorious traditional Southern Oaks draped in moss surrounded by a bayou. So we decided to split their time between the two.
We here in New Orleans love to share our city!
Reverend Joe Pitzer officiated with a simple and heartfelt ceremony "under the Oaks."
Yes there were tears and laughter!
We then took off to explore and grab some cool portraits on the infamous stone bridge and of course among the beautiful oaks. We exited and headed to the French Quarter for some more artistic portraits, ALCOHOL and of course street photographs - what attracts couples here in the first place.
It was perfect timing because the free Jazz in the Park at Armstrong Park was happening so we dropped in for a toast with other music lovers! Not a bad way to end an elopement!
A funny anecdote - I ran into them the very next day while with another couple who had just been married. In fact if I remember correctly we had to massage Robin and Keith's wedding date to work around this other wedding as it had booked first. Robin and I so wanted to work together that we found a way! And I got a couple cute grab shots of the couples congratulating each other.
Just another reason to come to New Orleans for your wedding or elopement. The fun of course! The immersion we do into the city and her wonders. A once in a lifetime event deserves a more than once in a lifetime visit! Love you Robin! Keith too!!! And of course the pup!
