Drinking Water: Wedding Day Glow vs. Wedding Day Shine
I'm keeping this short and sweet.
The temptation to go out drinking the night before your wedding is HUGE. And I am not going to be the one who says "don't do it." But, yeah you knew that was coming, you have to do it like a local here in New Orleans.
First, the summers here are brutal...and, I come from Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona! It is hideously humid and some years very, very hot.
You sweat.
Excuse me, repeat please.
YOU SWEAT A LOT.
The loss of water is fast and can be dangerous. If you have ever had heat exhaustion or stroke you KNOW when you reach that point. When you are drinking and catching up with friends and family you haven't seen in awhile, time slips by and BAM you are drunk. And dehydrated.
So, you might ask, "hey, Pam so what?"
Well, for photos no amount of makeup can cover up the circles and bags under your eyes. Your skin looks dry. And if you didn't hydrate the night before you are not going to feel so good standing out in 95 degree heat at a 107 heat index.
The solution?
One glass of water, one drink, one glass of water, one drink. And another tip for these hot summer weddings. Freeze a wet washcloth in a freezer ziplock and also a ½ bottle of water. When you leave fill the bottle to the top and you have not only cold water to drink but something cold to put on your pulse points for internal body cooling.
See? Simple. Cheap. And, very rewarding.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Hugs!
