A Quick Tip on Reducing That Bloat Before Your Wedding Day
Many brides start an exercise program and diet to drop a few pounds and firm up for their wedding dress. Whether you do this or not you might find the day of your wedding you are feeling bloated with a few extra pounds.
How could this have happened? Did I just gain 5 pounds?
No, you probably didn't gain any weight.
Most likely you are bloated.
That last week or two before your wedding can be stressful with all the final planning and packing. You don't have time nor the desire to cook but you have to eat so you either nibble or grab whatever is handy. And of course there is probably some alcohol drinking going on once you're in New Orleans.
So, here is my trick that is actually a good idea to practice all the time:
Cut your sodium intake.
Cut your carbonated soda intake.
Drink a ton of water.
But watch that sodium. It hides in places you wouldn't expect. Track your sodium intake as you track your calories and fat. If you are going to drink alcohol, hydrate and stay away from salty foods and snacks. I personally can gain 5-7 pounds of just water retention. And of course it always happens during an event - that feeling like a swollen cow negates much of the fun.
So drink lots of water and cut that sodium intake down. Don't forget MSG. That's a bloater too. Some vegetable and carbs can cause excess gas like red beans and rice. Great dish but save it for after the wedding!
